Multi-currency totals: reconcile currencies first

Separate cash, holdings and the direction of conversion. Inspect each currency ledger before treating a base-currency total as complete.

From account records to total assets

  1. Cash balance: opening cash adjusted by cash transactions. Transaction amounts describe changes, not an additional stock of assets.
  2. Holding value: quantity and the ledger's reference price determine market value. Cost belongs to its profit/loss calculation and should not be added again to market value.
  3. Account assets: cash plus holdings, aggregated for matching currencies in the server snapshot.
  4. Base-currency total: configured conversion rates combine amounts; currencies without a rate remain explicitly outside that total.

Web views use the same server ledger snapshot. Compare the same timestamp, currency and price source before investigating a discrepancy, rather than making a second client-side calculation.

A calculation-only example

CurrencyCashHolding valueCurrency assets
CNY10,0005,00015,000
USD1,0005001,500

All figures are fictional. At an illustrative 1 USD = 7 CNY, the CNY total is 25,500. Without that rate, a CNY 15,000 total does not mean USD assets are zero: read the unconverted-currency status alongside it.

When allocation figures are usable

The three buckets organise recorded assets against your own target proportions, not a prescribed allocation. First check currency coverage, price validity and record classification. If allocation metrics are unavailable, do not replace missing values with zero or interpret partial-ledger percentages as your complete portfolio.

Common reconciliation differences

Live price-adapter availability and refresh success follow the service's actual source and state. Without a real adapter, manual or integration-reference prices may remain. This guide supplies neither current rates nor trade or return forecasts.

Next: review holdings

Use the import guide to verify instrument, quantity and currency. Read the privacy policy, then create an account or sign in and test the ledger scope with a small set of your own records.
